'Restore All Things in Christ'
I am proud to become the first male Headteacher of St Pius X Catholic Primary School & Little Lambs Nursery, from September 2017. The pupils, staff and Governors are all very proud of our school and we strive to ensure that St Pius X provides a happy, caring and safe environment where everyone now works hard to allow children to achieve their full potential. Our aim is to give our pupils the skills to become life long learners so that they can become exemplary citizens of the future. Our Ofsted Inspection (March 2014) acknowledged that - 'This is a happy school where children enjoy learning and playing.'
St Pius X is a welcoming school, at the heart of a very strong community, with dedicated staff, who have excellent relationships with pupils and their families. We are proud of our working partnership with parents and endeavour to involve them in school life, e.g. Parent Voice, Come and Learn sessions and an active Friends of St Pius X. This was highlighted by Ofsted (March 2014) - 'The school has good relationships with parents and plays an important role in community life.'
Here at St Pius X we are working hard to strengthen our curriculum and plan many exciting and creative learning opportunities. We now offer a broad and balanced curriculum. Being a Catholic school our curriculum and ethos are based upon the key teachings of our faith, centred around the Gospel Values. Our 2014 RE Inspection Report (Section 48) summarised that - 'Christ is at the centre of the school community'.
We provide an extensive range of extra-curricular activities throughout the year including Basket Ball, Cricket, Football, Choir, Dance, Gardening and Netball. In addition, we offer a Breakfast and After School Club from 7.30am until 5.30pm.
We understand that deciding the right school for your child is an important and often difficult decision. We believe the best way to understand and appreciate what St Pius X has to offer is to come and visit our wonderful school. We promise you'll be greeted with a smile. We would be honoured to show you around our delightful school.
