Charanga and YUMU
At St Pius X, we use the Charanga music scheme which is used from Early Years to Year 6. We teach Music every second half term, on a rotation basis with Design and Technology. In addition to this, Music is often taught and used within other areas of the curriculum, and to support and enhance the work done within the topics planned. A wide range of resources is available to support music teaching. We give pupils the opportunity to appreciate a wide range of high-quality live and recorded music.
We have recently developed our Music Curriculum further by signing up to YUMU, the online learning platform of Charanga. YUMU gives children their own login ins allowing them to access Music lessons both at home and from their IPAD in school. Each child can work through the lesson set at their own speed and explore the many other creative apps YUMU has to offer, complimenting the use of ICT in our Music.
What have we been getting up to?
